Annual Awards Night

Every March we hold our annual awards night, and celebrate the year of achievements by all of our Beavers, Cubs , Scouts and Black Diamond Explorers.

This is a hugely popular and fun night - and we always get some VIPs to attend to recognise our acheivements

Remembrance parade is a very important day in the calendar for 3rd East Kirkby and Black Diamond, our scouts and explorers join the church service and then our beavers and cubs join us outside to parade to the Cenotaph. At the Cenotaph we are proud to take part in the service and lay wreaths to show our respect

Its for all ages!

At 3rd East Kirkby we love to camp, so much so that we start the camping experience right from Beavers!

Every year we take the beavers camping for two nights under canvas and they LOVE IT.

Themed Camps

Camps are not just about toasting marshmallows - we always make sure we have a fun and exciting theme for each camp, with activities , food and quite often outfits to match! To name a few... Starwars, Cowboy & Indian, Teddy Bears Picnic, Spy, Science, Harry Potter, Space, Halloween and Pirates .

We make sure we do a full group camp every year - with all sections attending from Beavers through to Explorers. These run alternate years - with a Christmas camp at our hut with a full gang show one year and then a week long summer camp the next year.

Back to Basic Camps

Back to basics camps are probably the number one themed camp in 3rd East Kirkby.

The young people have a great experience of traditional scout camping on our Back to Basics Camps. They are great weekends. starting with camping in tents on a wooded scout campsite. Throughout the weekend the young people get to experience cooking their own meals on wood fires and enjoying activities such as shelter building, wide games and backwoods skills.

Youth-Shaped Scouting is something we do during February each year, where we take a particular focus on empowering the young people to shape our programme, events, sleepovers and camps.

We want every young person to shape their own adventure.

Youth-shaped Scouting not only improves the way that we Scout, but also improves the experiences of the young people involved.
