Sample Collection

Samples were collected from the Lincoln Sharing Garden in Lafayette. The samples were collected from two different plants - a hot pepper plant and a sweet pepper plant - using a soil corer on September 3rd, 2024. During sample collection, it was a warm, sunny day. Three core samples were taken from around the base of each plant and added to a bag - one bag per sample. The bags were then frozen to maintain the soil environment.
