Starting a Print

Starting a print on the Prusa i3 mk3s 3D Printer is a relatively simple process that can be broken down into a few steps. Before starting, it's important to ensure that the printer is set up correctly, the bed is level, and the extruder is calibrated. Once you have done these things, you're ready to start printing.

Step 1: Load the Filament

The first step in starting a print on the Prusa i3 mk3s 3D Printer is to load the filament. To do this, you'll need to insert it into the filament feeder. Please follow the steps on the page "Changing Filament".

Step 2: Prepare the Print Bed

Next, you'll need to prepare the print bed. This involves ensuring that the bed is clean and free of any debris. You can do this by wiping it down with a soft cloth or using isopropyl alcohol if necessary.

Step 3: Slice Your Model and Transfer to Printer

Now it's time to slice your 3D model using a slicer software such as PrusaSlicer or Simplify3D, which will create the necessary code for the printer to follow. Once you've generated the code, save it to an SD card.

Step 4: Initiate the Print

Insert the SD card into the printer. Then, select the file you want to print from the printer's menu and initiate the print. The printer will heat up the bed and nozzle, and then start printing your model.

Step 5: Monitor the Print

While the printer is working, it's important to monitor the print to ensure that everything is running smoothly. Check that the filament is feeding correctly, and that the layers are being printed as expected. If you notice any issues, such as a clogged nozzle or a failed layer, pause the print and address the issue before continuing.

Step 6: Finish the Print

Once the print is complete, remove the model from the bed by carefully lifting it off. Be careful not to damage the bed or the model. If the print is difficult to remove, gently wobble or very slightly bend the bed. The model should lift off pretty easily.

In conclusion, starting a print on the Prusa i3 mk3s 3D Printer is a straightforward process that requires a few simple steps. By following these steps, you can ensure that your prints are high-quality and reliable. Remember to always monitor your prints and address any issues that arise promptly to ensure the best possible results.
