Need help setting up your ultimate spatial media hub? This guide covers everything from connecting your libraries to optimizing your 3D viewing experience across your Apple devices.
You can easily import and stream your movies from several different locations. Ensure 3D Player has the necessary permissions in your device settings to access these sources:
⚬ Plex & Jellyfin: Enter your server IP or login credentials. For the best streaming performance, ensure your Apple device and media server are on the same local network.
⚬ Mac Local Storage: Enable "File Sharing" on your Mac's system settings. Navigate to the network tab in 3D Player to seamlessly browse and stream your downloaded films.
⚬ iCloud & Files App: Grant 3D Player permission to access your iOS Photos and Files to instantly play videos stored directly on your iPhone or iPad.
Our real-time 2D to 3D conversion engine works across all devices, but native 3D playback depends on the hardware you are using. Review the table below to see which viewing modes are compatible with your setup.
Device Supported 3D Modes Best Used With
iPhone Red/Cyan, Side-by-Side, Wigglegram Mobile VR Headsets / Anaglyph Glasses
iPad Red/Cyan, Side-by-Side, Wigglegram Stereoscopic Viewers / Anaglyph Glasses
Apple TV Red/Cyan, Wigglegram Anaglyph Glasses
Important Reminder: Side-by-Side (SBS) format is designed specifically for stereoscopic viewers or mobile VR headsets. Because of this requirement, SBS playback is intentionally not supported on Apple TV.
If you are running into problems, try these quick fixes:
⚬ Cannot find local Mac or Server: Verify that your Apple device is connected to the exact same Wi-Fi network as your Mac, Plex, or Jellyfin server, and that you have granted 3D Player "Local Network" permissions in your iOS settings.
⚬ Playback is stuttering: Real-time 2D to 3D conversion requires device processing power. Try closing heavy background apps, or download the media file directly to your device's Files App rather than streaming it over a weak wireless connection.
⚬ 3D effect is broken in Red/Cyan mode: Ensure you are using standard Red/Cyan anaglyph glasses. Polarized cinema glasses or Green/Magenta glasses will not work with this specific viewing mode.
