Tots is our co-ed preschool class, designed for curious and active 3- and 4-year-olds (5-year-olds are also welcome if they attend half-day kindergarten). These classes provide a fun and supportive environment where young gymnasts can explore movement, build confidence, and develop foundational skills.
Tots classes are offered during the school year. Children are grouped by developmental level to ensure a positive and age-appropriate learning experience.
Each 45-minute class introduces students to basic tumbling and body shapes, along with a wide range of movement activities. Children will hang, balance, support, and climb using equipment such as bars, beams, trampolines, ladders, and even parachutes—helping them develop coordination, strength, and motor skills in a playful and encouraging setting.
A perfect bridge between Tots and Developmental, each 45-minute "Tweeners" class focuses on foundational gymnastics skills such as basic tumbling and body shapes, while also building coordination, balance, and strength. Young gymnasts explore equipment like bars, beams, trampolines, ladders, and parachutes—all through engaging, play-based activities designed to support their growth and confidence.
This class is perfect for school-aged children who are ready to build on their basic gymnastics foundation. Students work on elementary tumbling, while also exploring skills on bars, trampolines, vaults, and ropes. The focus is on developing strength, balance, flexibility, and coordination—all of which support future success in gymnastics or any athletic activity.
Whether your child is brand-new to gymnastics or continuing from a previous class, our Developmental program offers the structure, challenge, and fun they need to grow.

At Summit Gymnastics Club, advancement to the competitive team is based on Coach Hal’s professional discretion, determined through careful observation of each gymnast’s skill level, work ethic, attitude, and consistent performance during training. This process ensures that gymnasts are not only physically prepared but also emotionally and mentally ready for the demands of competitive gymnastics.
Gymnasts are typically invited to join the competitive team after demonstrating strong foundational skills, extensive experience in the gym, and a commitment to improvement over time. Team placement is not solely based on age or time spent in class—it is a reflection of readiness, both in terms of ability and mindset.
Once placed on the team, gymnasts will begin training at a more intensive level and will have the opportunity to compete in sanctioned USA Gymnastics (USAG) events across Wyoming and neighboring states. As they grow and progress within the sport, team members may qualify for regional and national competitions, representing Summit Gymnastics Club at higher levels of competitive achievement.
