About My EI
I understand my emotional intelligence across four domains: Emotional Awareness, Emotional Management, Social Emotional Awareness, and Relationship Management.
Strongest Domain:
Social Emotional Awareness. I excel at understanding and empathizing with others' emotions, which helps build strong relationships and support others.
Weakest Domain:
Emotional Awareness. I sometimes struggle to identify and articulate my own emotions, leading to misunderstandings.
Improvement Plan:
Stay Calm: Practice staying composed in stressful situations.
Reflect on Emotions: Understand the root causes of my emotions.
Open Communication: Share feelings with trusted colleagues and friends.
Perspective-Taking: Consider how my emotions and actions affect others.

EI enhances leadership, teamwork, and conflict resolution. High EI helps manage stress, adapt to change, and navigate interpersonal dynamics effectively.

Interpersonal Skills Review
Through self-reflection and comments from peers, I've learned that while I have some strong relationship skills, I also have big gaps in my abilities. The feedback made me more aware of my skills in being friendly, getting other people's points of view, and being approachable. But it has also shown me things I need to work on, like being patient when I listen, accepting different values, and being able to change my plans when my needs do.
Strengths
Approachability:
I got high marks on both the self- and peer-accessibility scales, which means that people find it easy to talk to me and don't see me as a threat.
Understanding Others:
I got good marks for being able to understand and relate to other people's points of view, which shows that I have a lot of emotional intelligence.
Warmth and Friendliness:
Consistently high results in showing warmth and kindness say that I make others feel welcome and supported.
Weaknesses
Listening Patiently:
Why: Not being able to listen well can cause misunderstandings, hurt teamwork, and miss chances to work together effectively.
How: I can improve my active listening skills by making eye contact, nodding, reviewing what others are saying, and regularly asking my peers for comments on my listening skills.
Respecting Different Values:
Why: Not respecting different values can lead to disagreements, hurt team cohesion, and make it harder to work together effectively.
How: Have open talks about different points of view, go to trainings on diversity and inclusion, and show care by learning and respecting other people's points of view.
Adapting to Changing Needs:
Why: Difficulty in adapting to change can result in resistance to new ideas, decreased innovation, and a lack of responsiveness to new challenges and opportunities.
How: Embrace change by participating in new projects or roles that challenge my comfort zone, seek feedback on how well I adapt to new situations, and continuously work on being more flexible and open to new ideas.
By focusing on these areas for improvement, I can enhance my interpersonal skills, leading to better communication, stronger relationships, and improved performance in my future career.
