Great friends and great couples.
We are so lucky here.
"If it wasn't for Pickleball..." - Maureen Plainfield
There is something special about all the chatter between games as we are foes on the court and friends off the court.
Every Saturday 24 teams show up to do battle with some very epic pickleball play. When you scroll through the Winner's page, you'll notice there are new winners every week and everyone has a chance to win. Even if you didn't make it to the playoff round, it was just another great day in The Villages against many of your great friends.
Joel Waiwaiole and his wife Cindy Austin win in Feb. 2025
Friends of Bill McCorkle, Senior Pro Joel and Cindy stopped by Mball to play some spicy pickleball. They ended up winning Pod B and captured the crowns.
Nice folks. With 5 kids in college, they are still rooted in Texas, but we hope they keep The Villages on their radar as they were just lovely people.
Joanie Baraga said "I just want to see what it feels like to wear the crown" as she never won in 3 years, so I took her picture. Then BAM...two weeks later she wore it for real in her victory photo on September 24, 2024. She played with Dave Keller and they played 6 perfect games and the crown was finally hers. Joanie improved her game and players noticed.
November 17, 2024, Vickie Babbe had both her sons in town with their families and played in the tournament. Mom Vickie and son Kyle beat out 17 teams to take home the crown. Such a great day filled with family fun and killer pickleball play. Go Team Babbe!
Here on a life style visit from North Carolina, Dawn and Al Sabogal found Moneyball and loved it. As new Village residents their motto is...."Hey, the boxes can wait... we have Moneyball". Newcomers Al and Dawn Sabogal fit right in from the start and continue to rack up wins and make it into the playoff rounds. This winning photo was on their yearly Christmas card!
