By Car
The trip from Lisbon to Évora takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes by car. Take either the 25 de Abril Bridge (A2) or the Vasco da Gama Bridge (A12) south out of Lisbon, connecting to the A2 highway. Further ahead, take the exit to the A6 highway towards Évora/Spain and finally exit onto the N114 road which leads directly into the city. The roads are well-maintained and offer scenic views of the rolling plains and cork oak landscapes as you approach the Alentejo region.
By Bus
Several bus companies operate routes from Lisbon to Évora, with journeys lasting around 1 hour and 20 minutes to 1 hour and 45 minutes. Buses depart either from Lisbon's Oriente terminal or the Sete Rios terminal. The two main operators are Rede Expressos and FlixBus.
By Train
Trains from Lisbon's Oriente, Sete Rios or Entrecampos stations to Évora are available, providing a comfortable, direct journey with no transfers required. The total journey time is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. From Évora train station, the University of Évora is a short taxi ride or a brief bus trip away. Inside Évora
Getting around Évora is very easy. You can use public transport (Trevo) to move throughout the city, with a cost of €1.55.
