Emotions do not simply happen to us; they are actively enacted, shaped by our choices, culture and actions. In turn, they decisively shape how we think and act. This powerful, reciprocal relationship lies at the very heart of today's most pressing global crises – from ecological disruption and technological perils to systemic geopolitical decay and the erosion of shared truth.
Organized by Praxis – Center for Philosophy, Politics and Culture (UBI/UÉ), this international conference brings together diverse disciplinary perspectives to explore how our emotional lives contribute to these contemporary challenges. Join us at the University of Évora as we inquire into how emotions can be manipulated as perils or cultivated as vital pathways toward collective hope, resilience and empathy.
