At Second Missionary Baptist Church our values are rooted in the life and ministry of Jesus and it gives context and shapes all we do within the church. We are prayerful people seeking spiritual transformation in our personal lives with God through worship and ministry, seeking His will as members of His Kingdom. We believe that God’s Word is central to our understanding of His will.

“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” (Proverbs 29:18) 

We see Second Missionary Baptist Church flourishing as an integral part of the greater community so that you can experience the church as a place to be loved, to belong, and see that the Lord is good. We will establish relationships that reflect Christ in us, building connections with people in other churches as well as our own and in our neighborhoods. We will grow and strengthen the church through reaching lost souls in ever increasing numbers with the good news that he is risen!

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

Using the passion and compassion given to us, Second Missionary Baptist Church seeks to actively engage with our community and meet needs. Our goal is to demonstrate God’s love in all situations. Our members will participate and invest in the church according to their spiritual gifts and foster a nurturing, growing community deeply rooted in scripture. It is every member's responsibility to express and provide support for families, children and young adults in understanding and growing their relationship with Jesus. We will instruct the youth in the roles and workings of the church so they grow into them with reverence and mentorship leading the way for generations to come.
