Urgent: Our New Food Pantry Needs Your Help!
Our church food pantry shelves need immediate stocking! On behalf of The “Feed my Sheep” Outreach Ministry, our church’s community service arm dedicated to addressing food insecurity, we have begun a new project to establish our own food pantry located at the church. Our goal is to serve families and individuals in need throughout the city of Bogalusa and surrounding areas regardless of religious affiliation.
Our food pantry will be targeting service for 5 families each month initially(roughly 20 individuals of varying ages). Your donations of shelf-stable foods make a real difference in the lives of local families facing food insecurity. With the Lord's help we will not only meet their current needs but be able to increase our reach in the future.
Most Needed Items:
• Canned proteins (tuna, chicken, beef)
• Peanut butter and jelly
• Pasta and pasta sauce
• Canned fruits and vegetables
• Rice and beans
• Cereal and oatmeal
• Shelf-stable milk

Pastor
Born and raised in Bogalusa, Louisiana, Pastor Darrel Self spent his formative years on the northside of town known as the “Poplas quarters”. Upon graduation from Bogalusa High School in 1983, he worked numerous odd jobs for years before deciding to enter the U.S. Army in 1990. He returned from Desert Storm a veteran of war but now began battles in his personal life that eventually would lead him to Christ. It was then, after he had reached a breaking point, he turned and asked for God’s mercy, unsure if he was worthy of it or even that it existed. It has been 24 years since that day and his life has never been the same. After accepting Jesus Christ into his heart he has worked tirelessly to build a life according to the word of the Lord. Of the many abundant blessings received, the love of his life, First Lady Autainia Campbell-Self and being called to the ministry are among his most cherished. Pastor now for 12 years at the Second Missionary Baptist Church, he Is at the helm of one of the oldest churches in Bogalusa at 114 years and counting. “I plan to be here every Sunday building upon what the lord has given me and following his commandments until it’s time to pass the torch to a new pastor, one I hope to bless with a thriving church ready for the challenges of the future”.
