The East Asia Submillimeter-Wave Receiver Technology Workshop, held jointly with the RIKEN–NICT Joint Workshop on Terahertz Technology 2026, brings together researchers, engineers, and students working on millimeter- and submillimeter-wave receiver technologies and terahertz science. The 27th workshop (EARW2026) will take place in Okayama, Japan, on 2–4 November 2026.
The program will feature invited and contributed oral presentations as well as poster sessions, with approximately 100 participants expected. All sessions will be conducted in English; however, posters presented by bachelor's students may be given in Japanese.

EARW2026 will take place at the Okayama Convention Center, directly connected to JR Okayama Station. Oral sessions will be held in the Reception Hall; posters will be displayed in the Reception Lobby and Room 201.
Access
By Shinkansen: Okayama Station is a major stop on the San'yō Shinkansen — about 45 min from Shin-Osaka. The venue is a 3-minute walk from the station's west exit.
By air: Okayama Momotaro Airport is about 30 minutes from Okayama Station by airport shuttle bus. Connections via Haneda (Tokyo) are convenient for international participants.
Accommodation
Participants are asked to book their own accommodation. Many hotels are located around Okayama Station.
Lunch
Numerous restaurants, cafés, and convenience stores are available in and around the station. You may also bring takeout meals into the venue.

The workshop will be held primarily on-site. Online participation will be supported on a best-effort basis. Oral presentations should, in principle, be given on-site. Posters will be displayed on-site only (no online poster session).

We welcome exhibits from companies working on millimeter-wave, submillimeter-wave, and terahertz technologies and related instrumentation. Exhibition booths will be available at the workshop venue during the three days of the workshop.
Companies interested in exhibiting are kindly asked to contact the Organizing Committee by email (see Contact). Details of the exhibition space and conditions will be provided upon inquiry.

Banquet & optional tour
Banquet & optional tour
Banquet. The workshop banquet will be held on the evening of Tuesday, 3 November (Day 2), at Okayama Castle, the historic landmark of the city, within easy reach of the venue.
Optional tour. An optional half-day tour is planned for the afternoon of Wednesday, 4 November: a visit to the Seimei Telescope (3.8 m, Kyoto University) and the 188 cm reflector telescope (NAOJ), including the insides of both domes. Researchers from Kyoto University (Prof. Mikio KURITA) and NAOJ (Prof. Akito TAJITSU) will guide us through the telescopes.
