DIRECTIONS:
Set timer for 20 minutes and read your independent reading books silently for 20 minutes.
When the timer goes off, each students will go through the printed polaroid pictures and chose ONE image to pair with a quote from your book that you read in the past 20 minutes.
*Help the sub and find the paper clipped stacks of images in the paper turn in area on my desk*
Each student must choose one of the available photos and work to find a connection (whether LITERAL or SYMBOLIC or METAPHORICAL) to their quote.
On the front of the polaroid, write your selected quote AND PAGE NUMBER.
One the back, write a defense of the picture and quote you chose. Make it clear why the photo and quote are connected, as well as why you chose that particular quote. Why is it significant to the book so far? Writing should fill up the ENTIRE back of the paper (min. 5 sentences). Turn in at end of class.
