Charge: 22.2.2 (a) (v) intentionally or carelessly engaging in rough conduct against an opponent

Details of Incident: During the second quarter of the match between DBFC and SDFC, Mr Davern (Player #18, DBFC) was positioned in the centre wing area as the ball was kicked into a marking contest. Mr Davern had eyes for the incoming ball and prepared to contest it in the air. At the same time, Mr McGennisken (Player #35, SDFC) approached the contest at speed. It was clearly observed that Mr McGennisken’s attention was directed toward Mr Davern rather than toward the incoming ball. As Mr Davern jumped to contest the ball after which Mr McGennisken made forceful contact to Mr Davern’s head/face region using his elbow and shoulder.

Charge: 22.2.2 (a) (i) intentionally or carelessly striking another person

Details of Incident: During halfway through the last quarter of the match between DBFC and SDFC, Mr Butterfield (Player #23, DBFC) was in possession of the ball, and was being tackled by an unknown SDFC player (legal tackle). Whilst engaged in this tackle, Mr McGennisken (Player #35, SDFC) and approached Mr Butterfield’s right side of his body, and delivered a forceful contact to the right side of our player’s chest/upper abdomen area using a closed fist and forearm. The fist made contact at the base of the sternum, and was outside the natural contest. The contact was not part of the tackle and occurred the immediate contest.
