With a growing demand for STEM fields and an expanding world of technology, teaching robotics in school is becoming an increasingly indispensable. Our robotics program give students the opportunity to engage into the world of robotics and programming. Students have the opportunity to develop a huge array of knowledge and skills in robotics, along with creative thinking, perseverance and team work.
OUR PROGRAM
VISION:
The aspiration of the Robotics Program is to foster the pertinent and efficient academic scenario with the integration of robotic technology so that each of its students develops the skills, values and attitudes necessary for the integration of technology into the pedagogical scenario. In addition, become a thinking, ethical, communicator, and leader, effective and constant apprentice, to be able to compete in a world of constant technological changes.
MISSION:
Provide educational experiences in the area of robotics so that the student acquires cognitive, vocational, technical and high-skill learning experiences, as well as the leadership development towards educational excellence.
GOALS:
A: No, you don't need any experience, only the desire to learn.
A: Our program is for students at our school and you can enroll in 7th grade.
A: The program is free of charge for our students at the school.
A: Just fill out the form on this link or talk to Mrs. Figueroa and she will let you know how to enroll.
A: The mentor sets the schedule with the students but usually three days a week. Usually two week before a competition we can have daily meetings.
A: Students in the teams build the robots with the help of their mentors. The robotics teams have well defined jobs like mechanic, programmer, driver and others. However, we want all of our students to learn every aspect of robotics and everyone will have the opportunity to engage in different jobs.
A: Students in the teams program the robots. Students learn how to program during the semester with the help of their mentors and students with more experience. We also coordinate educational activities with other teacher and people involved in VEX Robotics. The robotics teams have well defined jobs like mechanic, programmer, driver and others. However, we want all of our students to learn every aspect of robotics and everyone will have the opportunity to engage in different jobs.
A: Yes! We participate in many competitions. PRIOR is the organization that organize the VEX competitions in Puerto Rico. If one of our teams qualifies we can compete on the VEX Worlds.
