Watauga High School

Our all male beauty pageant is composed of boys from the high school competing for the coveted title of Mr. Watauga High School!

In the spring of 2000 Mr. WHS was started for a teacher, Mr. Lan O’Loughlin, who was battling cancer. This event has continued for 21 years, helping local families in our Watauga community.

See this year's families below - ALL PROCEEDS are given directly to these families!

The Ellington Family

Erin Ellington is a teacher in the Watauga County School system battling breast cancer. Mrs. Ellington is a music teacher at Parkway and Mabel elementary schools. She is a dedicated teacher who has impacted the lives of her students and community and we hope to return that favor.

The Dellinger Family

Dave Dellinger is a member of our Watauga High School custodial staff and bus driver. Dave is facing medical hardships due to complications from diabetes that has forced him to take a leave of absence from his job. Dave has been serving our students for 7 years and has worked hard to make Watauga a safe and clean learning environment.

The Cottrell Family

The Cottrell family has a third grade student in the Watauga County School System who, as a toddler, was diagnosed with cancer and went into remission. Unfortunately it has come back. We are hoping that the money we raise will help this family during this difficult season.
