ABSTRACT
This study develops an IoT-based slope monitoring system, which integrates hydromechanics and soil-structure analysis tools. Real-time monitoring data and warnings are presented on a cloud platform, offering advantages in energy efficiency, cost, convenience, and accuracy over traditional methods. Rigorous numerical analyses are performed to evaluate the slope stability, which consider factors like groundwater condition and rainfall infiltration. Hydro-mechanical analyses are also coupled to investigate the slope response to various conditions. Customized warning indicators are formulated based on the simulation results. This study demonstrates that integrating rigorous mechanics and site-specific considerations can enhance system reliability, while IoT cloud technology advances the development of a new real-time slope monitoring and warning framework.
