A few trail ideas:

~The "iconic" Old Forge hike is the 2 mile trail up Bald Mt to the Rondaxe fire tower. That being said, if you want to earn yourself a hiking patch, its totally feasible to do the entire Fulton Chain Triad in one day: Fulton Chain Trifecta

~Want to wander in the woods, have lunch by the lake, and see a waterfall, but not do a ton of elevation? Cascade Lake Loop trail

~Very short hike, but pretty place to wander (approx 30 minutes from the house): Death Brook Falls

~Moderate hike, caves, great views (approx 50 minutes from house): Castle Rock trail

~Longer trail, firetower, and great views (approx 70 minutes from house): Owl's Head Firetower
