Welcome, participants! We've compiled a list of frequently asked questions to help you navigate the tournament. If you don't find your answer here, please contact a member of the Organising Committee or approach any volunteer.
Q: What are the dates for the Lion City Cup?
A: The 9th Lion City Cup 2026 will be held from Monday, June 29 until Saturday, July 4, 2026.
Q: Where can I find the full tournament schedule and draw?
A: The full schedule and draw will be available here. We recommend checking it regularly for any updates.
Q: Are these tournaments World Bowls Series events, and do they offer ranking points?
A: Yes, the Lion City Cup is sanctioned by World Bowls Series, and contributes to World Bowls ranking points.
Q: What is the format of play for each competition?
A: Separate categories for men, ladies, U25 boys and U25 girls. There will be a separate draw for Male Pairs and Female Pairs in the Ends Format. In the Sets Format, there will be separate draws for men’s pairs, ladies’ pairs, U25 boys’ pairs and U25 girls’ pairs. Within a Team, the composition and positions of players for the Sets and Ends Formats may be different. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded to the podium finishers for each draw and each format. The results for each category will be taken into account to determine the winner of the Lion City Cup. Points will be awarded, Gold 3pts. Silver 2pts, Bronze 1pt, if points are equal, then more gold wins, more silver wins, more bronze wins in that order. If points are still equal declared joint winners. World bowls ranking points will be awarded by WB in accordance with their ranking policy.

Q: What is the dress code for the tournaments?
A: The teams should wear proper lawn bowling shoes and matching uniforms, including collared polo-type shirts, unless exempted with prior approval from the Controlling Body.
Q: Will there be officials (umpires, markers) provided?
A: Yes, qualified ITOs will be present at all matches.
Q: Where can I find the official rules of the game?
A: The Conditions of Play is available online.
Q: Will there be transport available from Hotel Grand Pacific to the event venues?
A: Yes, the bus schedule can be found here.
Q: How many competition venues for Lion City Cup 2026?
There will be 3 Event Venues as follows:
Event Venue 1, Kallang ActiveSG Lawn Bowl Green: 8 Stadium Boulevard. Singapore 397804
Event Venue 2, Tanglin Club Sports Centre: 5 Stevens Road, Singapore 257814
Event Venue 3, Singapore Cricket Club, A Connaught Dr, Singapore 179681
Q: How do I get to each venue?
A: Shuttle service is provided from the Hotel Grand Pacific to the event greens, a shuttle schedule will be provided to team managers.
Players may opt to make their own way to the event greens via private hire or public transport, and the addresses of the venues are provided here.
Q: Are there changing rooms and shower facilities at the venues?
A: Yes, all 3 venues offer changing rooms but only Kallang Lawn Bowl Green offers shower facilities for participants.
Q: Will food and beverages be available at the venues?
A: Yes, we have catered food (lunch only) and beverages will be provided at the venues.
Q: Are there medical facilities or first-aid on-site?
A: Organizing committee will be the first to respond for any injuries on site with our First Aid Kit that will be available at both venues. Emergency services will be activated if it is a serious injury and needs medical attention.
Q: Are there practice facilities available before or during the tournament?
Q: What should I do if I have a question or need assistance during a match?
A: Please approach the ITOs or Umpires in the first instance, or approach a tournament official.
Q: What happens if there's inclement weather?
A: In the event of rain or other adverse weather conditions, the Tournament Committee will make decisions regarding play. Announcements will be made at the venues and via official communication channels.
Q: Are spectators allowed? Is there an entry fee for spectators?
A: Spectators are allowed only at Kallang ActiveSG Lawn Bowl Green. Only participants and officials are allowed at Tanglin Club and Singapore Cricket Club.
Q: Will there be a prize presentation ceremony?
A: Yes, a prize presentation ceremony will be held on Saturday, July 4, from 6.30 PM at Grand Ballroom, Hotel Grand Pacific. All participants are encouraged to attend.
Q: What is the policy on photography and videography?
A: Participants and spectators are welcome to take photos for personal use. We have engaged our official photographers for this event and any pictures taken will be published on our social media.
Q: What are the recommended hotels for participants?
A: Hotel Grand Pacific is our recommended hotel during the tournament however participants are free to book their own preferred hotels.
Q: How do I get around Singapore?
A: Singapore is highly accessible, with efficient and diverse transportation options for getting around. Public transport is the most popular and budget-friendly choice, offering a comprehensive network of buses, MRT (trains), and ferries. Private hire cars, taxis, and even bike-sharing services are also readily available.
Q: What are some local attractions or activities I can explore in Singapore?
A: Singapore offers a diverse range of attractions for tourists, from modern marvels to cultural experiences. Popular choices include the iconic Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands, and Sentosa Island. Q: What is the local currency and where can I exchange money?
A: The official currency of Singapore is the Singapore Dollar (SGD). You can exchange your currency at various locations, including major banks in the Central Business District and many bank branches throughout the city, as well as licensed money changers, particularly in high-traffic areas in central Singapore.
