Established in 2000, Dance Pointe has been sharing the joy of dance in Brisbane for over two decades. Since 2012, our studios have thrived under the care and ownership of Miia. Over the years, our dancers have achieved incredible milestones, including developing a lifelong love for dance and the performing arts, excelling as top-tier Asia Pacific Dance Association exam candidates, winning Eisteddfods, securing placements in professional dance programs, and growing into inspiring dance teachers and captivating performers.
As we step into 2026, we are thrilled to mark a significant milestone in our journey. Miia will be directing her 15th Dance Pointe End of Year Concert. This year promises to be even more special as we continue to offer high-quality dance tuition in our beautiful, purpose-built studios. With care, passion, and commitment, we support our dancers at every stage of their journey—whether they are pursuing personal goals in class, competing, or performing on stage. We are proud of the talent and dedication that each dancer brings, and we look forward to another exciting year ahead!

ACCOUNT CREDIT
I acknowledge that any unused account credit will expire within three months (90 days) from the date of issuance.
DANCE SCHEDULE CHANGES
All classes are subject to change. While Dance Pointe makes every effort to operate classes according to the schedule published on the website, changes may be necessary due to fluctuations in demand. There is no guarantee that classes will run as originally scheduled. Any required changes will be communicated to those affected prior to the start of classes.
UNIFORM POLICY
Dance Pointe has a mandatory uniform policy (excluding trial classes, Ballet Buddies, Ballet Stars, and adult classes). Please refer to the Uniform Guide at https://sites.google.com/view/dancepointeqlduniformguide for more detailed information. I acknowledge that I am responsible for obtaining the required class uniform items within two weeks of starting classes.
PARENTAL PARTICIPATION
One parent or guardian per dancer is required to be present for the duration of Ballet Buddies and Ballet Stars classes. For Ballet Buddies (2-3 years), parental participation is essential to maintain the class structure and focus. In many instances, these classes are more beneficial and run more smoothly with the involvement of a parent or guardian. For Ballet Stars classes, one parent or guardian is asked to observe the class from the studio, with chairs provided. I acknowledge that in the unlikely event my child requires first aid during these classes, the responsibility remains mine.
For all other classes, no spectators are allowed in the studio to encourage independent learning. Viewing windows and TV monitors are available for a brief look at the class in action. All Dance Pointe teachers have Blue Cards for working with children and current first aid certification. By registering for Dance classes, I consent to Dance Pointe providing first aid or calling for emergency medical assistance in the event of an emergency.
SIBLING POLICY
Siblings of registered Dance Pointe students are not permitted to participate in Dance Pointe classes. If alternative care arrangements cannot be made for siblings, I understand that I am responsible for ensuring they remain off the dance floor and do not interfere with any equipment being used during the class.
PHOTOGRAPHY & FILMING
As part of our commitment to child safety, Dance Pointe may take photographs, videos, or digital recordings of students and attendees during classes, rehearsals, performances, concerts, and any Dance Pointe events, whether on or off our premises (e.g., Open Day, community performances).
By attending Dance Pointe events or classes, parents, guardians, and attendees consent to Dance Pointe, its staff, and agents using these images and recordings for educational, promotional, and marketing purposes, including on our website, social media, brochures, or other media.
To ensure the privacy and safety of all students:
Parents and guardians are not permitted to take photos or videos during classes or official events.
All media will be handled securely by Dance Pointe staff and only shared in approved channels.
Identifiable information of students (full names, contact details) will not be published alongside images/videos without specific approval.
This policy forms part of our Child Safe standards, ensuring that all use of images and recordings respects the privacy and wellbeing of every student in our care.
FOOD & DRINK
For safety and cleanliness, food and beverages are not permitted in the Dance Pointe studios. These can be consumed in the reception area. Only water is allowed in the studios.
I understand that the classes are structured to include a drink break, and I acknowledge that all dancers should bring a water bottle to each class.
ILLNESS POLICY
I understand that I should NOT attend classes if I am unwell. Once I am feeling better, I have the option to contact the admin team to schedule a make-up lesson. Make-up lessons must be scheduled within the current term and do not carry over to the next term.

EXAMS
In 2026 Dance Pointe will offer Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz and Tap examinations with Asia Pacific Dance Association (APDA). These examinations are optional and invitations are given out in February. Dancers are encouraged to sit examinations to help build confidence, self-esteem and discipline. It also gives them the opportunity to work towards a goal and receive an objective indication of their dance technique level.
The APDA examinations will be held in June at Dance Pointe studios. Examination dates are set by the association, we usually receive them in May. There is a compulsory workshop and mock exam in Term 2 and it is imperative that exam candidates attend these so they know what is expected of them, and learn how the examination will run. Please also note that there is a set uniform for all examinations, see Uniform Guide for more detailed information.

More information on Acrobatic Arts examinations will be available in Term 2. For Acro exam entry for all levels, it is a requirement to also take a weekly Ballet or Jazz class.
