Option 1: Engage-Calm-Distract
Presenter: Mason Klahn, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE)

The Engage-Calm-Distract training addresses pediatric distress and provides information on applying developmentally appropriate strategies and activities for engaging, calming, and distracting children and their caregivers.
After this 3-hour training, you will learn how to:
Appropriately engage with children during a crisis or emergency
Engage in calming techniques
Learn helpful tools to distract children
Understand strategies for working with caregivers
Recognize how fear impacts the brain

Option 2: Career & Technical Education in Colorado

Become a CTE Specialist Endorsed School Counselor!
Join for this four-hour course: CTE in Colorado, that will be tailored specifically for School Counselors (typically this course is 8 hours or 3 months in length). This is a special opportunity to complete this engaging and info-packed requirement for endorsement!
In this course, we will complete a few 'homework' items that will be relevant to work you do with students and their career development, including:
Work Based Learning
Equity and Inclusion
Meaningful Career Conversations
Messaging & Perceptions.
