Abstract Submission Guidelines
Contributed oral presentations are 15 minutes - 10 minutes of prepared talk and 5 minutes of questions - and invited talks are 30 minutes - 25 minutes of prepared talk and 5 minutes of questions.
For poster presenters, posters will be judged on:
(1) the visual display of the poster,
(2) the organization of the content,
(3) the quality of the oral presentation,
(4) the overall impact of the research,
with an emphasis on the student's understanding of their research motivation and their work in the context of their broader field of study. Students should also be cognizant that they will be judged by technical experts who may not be specific to their field of study. Particular weight will be given to how well they are able to communicate the motivation behind and the significance of their research.
Judges will have approximately 5 - 7 minutes with each poster they will be judging. Correspondingly, each student should prepare a 3 - 5 minute "elevator pitch" to present their poster to our judges so as to allow time for questions and follow up.
