Dr. Saani N. Perry is a native of Columbia, South Carolina, a proud product of public education, and a firm believer that the heartbeat of every great school lives within its student leaders. His journey in education began not behind a desk, but on the front lines of student leadership—as a student council officer and later as a Student Activities Director—where he learned firsthand that school spirit, student voice, and belonging are powerful drivers of academic success. 

     Dr. Perry is a graduate of Winthrop University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Middle-Level Education, and Queens University of Charlotte, where he earned a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership. He currently serves as Principal of John W. Moore Middle School and is a doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership, continuing his pursuit of excellence in educational leadership and innovation. 

      At the heart of Dr. Perry’s work is a deep commitment to developing young leaders of character. He intentionally models and cultivates the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate, emphasizing integrity, interpersonal skills, and a global mindset. Through innovative tools like school climate simulations, he works to ensure every student feels safe, seen, and valued. 

     Dr. Perry firmly believes that it takes a village to raise a child—and that student leaders play a critical role in that village. As a keynote speaker, he challenges student council members to know their place, embrace their place, and lead boldly within it. Leadership isn’t easy—but when you’re called to lead, you step forward with courage, purpose, and the unwavering belief that #ExcellenceIsTheStandard.

Ija Charles is a self taught artist and muralist. Armed with artistic talent and an attitude of gratitude, she spreads joy to every canvas and or wall her paintbrushes touch. While her talent has garnered national attention from celebrities, city leaders, and national organizations such as the NFL, Netflix, and Bob Marley’s estate, her real power lies in her love for people and the community with her murals beautifying the city and neighboring states across the country.
