Matt Krueger is the Assistant Superintendent of Student Affairs at the Indiana School for the Deaf (ISD). With over 20 years of experience in student development, after-school programs, and residential programs, Matt oversees various essential programs at ISD, including residential programs, after-school programs, athletics, food service, and the health center.
Matt holds a bachelor's degree in government from Gallaudet University and a master's in Deaf Education from Ball State University. As an ISD alumnus, he deeply connects to the school's community and values. This personal connection enables him to empathize with and profoundly understand the students' challenges and opportunities.
Matt has been married to Brandi, also an ISD and Gallaudet alumna, for nearly 30 years. Together, they have three sons and recently welcomed a daughter-in-law into their family.
Fun Fact: He has a culinary degree and once owned a catering business!

This session explores strategies for effectively working with individuals from diverse backgrounds by recognizing the many factors that shape their experiences, such as generational differences, cultural influences, socioeconomic status, and language access. Participants will reflect on how historical events, natural disasters, and economic shifts impact people’s perspectives and behaviors. The presentation encourages professionals to approach others with empathy, patience, and a willingness to find common ground, fostering more inclusive and supportive environments in educational and human service settings.
