Brian Tingley-Carr is a proud Gallaudet alum, holding both a Bachelor of Science and a Master's in School Counseling. He is a credentialed K-12 School Counselor for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, with over eight years of experience. He recently stepped into a unique role as a Behavior Specialist working with high school populations. Thoughout his career, he has had the pleasure and opportunity to work at three different deaf schools and two DHH programs.
Brian is a proud father of a six-month-old baby boy and an adopted 13-year-old daughter. He is happily married to his wife, Melissa. He brings extensive training as well as both professional and personal experience working with children-hearing, deaf, and hard-of-hearing-who have experienced trauma, including physical, sexual, emotional, and/or mental abuse.
Fun Fact: His wife and he were wedded by Elvis in Las Vegas (July '23).
Presentation
Building Connections
The presentation would be based on 'Trust-Based Relational Intervention' (TBRI) which is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention. Presentation focal points will be emotional regulation, the impacts of trauma, movements with mental wellness, and sensory regulation. Knowledge with TBRI will allow people to apply to K-12 school settings, all levels of kiddos in the educational field.
The first workshop will focus on TBRI concepts and training.
The second workshop will focus on the impacts of trauma and incorporating engagement interventions and strategies involving sensory regulation.
