Amy Bratton works at the Delaware School for the Deaf (DSD) in Newark, Delaware. She has worked in Student Life for 20 years. She began her career working with elementary boys and now works with older high school students, ages 18–22, helping them develop independent living and transition skills to prepare for life after school. Amy also coordinates the After-School Program at DSD. She collaborates with community groups and local businesses to plan fun and meaningful student activities. She organizes permission forms, student sign-ups, and staff schedules to ensure the program runs smoothly.
Prior to her tenure at DSD, Amy spent 14 years in Pennsylvania as a Site Supervisor and Program Coordinator in group home facilities serving deaf, hard-of-hearing, deafblind, and developmentally disabled individuals. Amy was mainstreamed throughout her education. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband of 25 years and their 21-year-old son. One of their favorite traditions is their annual summer trip to the Outer Banks, where they relax, recharge, and enjoy the beach life.
Fun Fact: She grew up taking dance lessons in ballet, jazz, and modern dance. When she was in college, she joined the dance company for two years and performed for both the campus and local community.

Stronger Together: A Collaborative Approach to After-School Programs
After-school programs thrive when we share ideas. In this session, you'll hear how one school introduces a variety of activities for students—and then it's your turn. Bring your own successes, ask for feedback, and connect with others who care about creating meaningful after-school experiences. Let’s grow together.
