Map from Sendai Station 2nd Floor:
Instructions:
3-minute walk from JR Sendai station
The hotel is located on the east side of Sendai Station. When you exit the Shinkansen gates, you will be on the west side.
There is no way to get from the west side of the station to the east from the Shinkansen floor. You will need to take the escalator down to be able to pass through.
When you descend the escalator, you will go towards the left-most part of the station. There, you will find a walkway to the other side of the station.
See the map above for directions.
Check-in Method:
If you are a guest sponsored by Tohoku University, you can check in at the reception desk with your name and passport.
Self-sponsored attendees staying at the hotel can also check-in using their name and passport.
Room Type: Standard Queen
Upon arrival, a representative from Sagawa Advance will be waiting for you when you exit customs. The representative will give you a ticket for the Shinkansen train you will take from Tokyo to Sendai.
Directions for Tokyo Station from Haneda Airport
Haneda Airport offers direct access to 3 different train lines. We will guide you based on the Tokyo Monorail train line.
In short:
Haneda Terminal 3 to Hamamatsucho Station via the Tokyo Monorail.
Exit the Tokyo Monorail and transfer to JR Hamamatsucho Station. *
JR Hamamatsucho Station to Tokyo Station via the Yamanote Line or Keihin Tohoku Line.**
*When transfering, you will exit the gates of the Tokyo Monorail and enter the JR Station ticket gates. If you buy a physical ticket for the Monorail, you will need to again purchase a ticket for the JR Train from Hamamatsucho Station to Tokyo Station.
**If you use Google Maps, both lines at JR Hamamatsucho Station indeed go to Tokyo Station, but the Yamanote (the green line) specifically labels the train "For Tokyo/Ueno". This might be less confusing. The Keihin Tohoku Line will say "For Omiya". Either one works.
See the Useful Tips section on the Venue page for more information on ticketing for trains, using IC Cards, and more.
Once you are at Tokyo Station, follow the signs for the Shinkansen. You do not need to exit the JR Station to transfer to the Shinkansen. If you do exit the JR Station gates, you will need to re-enter through a special Shinkansen gate (these can be quite annoying to find).
Be careful: Look for the Tohoku Shinkansen gates. These are separated from other regional Shinkansen.
If you have a paper ticket from Hamamatsucho to Tokyo Station, you will insert your paper ticket for the Hamamatsucho-Tokyo portion at the same time as your Shinkansen ticket into the Shinkansen gate. You will only get the Shinkansen ticket back.
If you have any trouble or are unsure about anything, talk to a station attendant. They are very helpful!
*Depending on train delays, etc., the map embedding may show a different route utilizing one of the other lines available at Haneda Airport. The embedding updates when you load the page for accurate times.
