Professor Hui-Chin Yeh, Distinguished Professor in the Department of Applied Foreign Languages and Editor-in-Chief of Educational Technology & Society, is acknowledged in the Scopus database as one of the World's Top 2% Scientists. Her previous roles include Director of the Teaching Excellence Center, Associate Dean of the College of Humanities and Sciences, and Chair of the Department of Applied Foreign Languages. Professor Yeh's scholarly pursuits encompass a broad spectrum of cutting-edge educational technologies and methodologies. Her work significantly contributes to the enhancement of language teaching and learning through the adoption of advanced tools such as AI, robotics, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR). She has been committed to empowering educators in rural areas over the long term and actively mentors young scholars to innovate in teaching and deepen their research. She also explores the incorporation of multimodality in supporting content creation, enriching English learning experience. Additionally, she pioneers in facilitating telecollaboration across international borders, fostering language exchange and cultural understanding through virtual partnerships and exchanges. These diverse research interests underscore her commitment to expanding the scope and efficacy of multiliteracies pedagogy. Professor Yeh's academic journey is distinguished by the publication of over 80 research papers, with a remarkable 85% of these contributions being featured in SSCI-indexed journals, reflecting the significant impact and high quality of her research. Her scholarly reputation is further enhanced by her being honoured as a recipient of the Distinguished Young Scholar Awards from the National Science Technology and Council on four occasions, in the years 2017, 2011, 2020, and 2023. She also received two times of Research Excellence Awards from Yuntech. These awards are emblematic of the continuous recognition of her exemplary research and her ongoing commitment to academic excellence.
葉惠菁博士現為國立雲林科技大學應用外語系特聘教授及知名期刊Educational Technology & Soceity Q1主編 。曾任教學卓越中心主任、人文與科學學院副院長以及應用外語系系主任。研究與教學領域涵蓋了科技輔助教育,特別注重於運用人工智慧(AI)工具提升全語言學習及偏鄉教師提升教學成效,亦長期耕耘電腦輔助語言教學、機器人輔助學習,以及擴增實境(AR)和虛擬實境(VR)在語言教學中的應用。長期致力於培力偏鄉教育師資,且積極輔導年輕學者突破教學創新和研究深化。此外,也持續推動國際間的遠距合作,通過第三空間虛擬合作和交流,促進語言交流與提升「在地即國際」的文化意識。其研究願景為以多模態呈現多元素養與文化內涵之實力培養。目前已發表80餘篇研究論文,其中85%收錄於SSCI期刊,質與量深受國際期刊的肯定,並獲得史丹佛大學AD Index世界前2%頂尖科學家之殊榮。此外,亦獲得多次國家科技部年輕學者研究獎助,分別於2017年、2011年、2020年和2023年獲此殊榮,也2次榮獲雲科大學術研究績優獎。

These tools facilitate the development of engaging instructional materials that cater to diverse learner needs, supporting the enhancement of language skills. By integrating AI into pedagogical strategies, educators can foster multimodal and student-centered learning environments. AI tools streamline lesson preparation, enhance content customization, and enable adaptive learning experiences that align with specific educational objectives. Additionally, AI-driven solutions empower learners through interactive feedback and real-time engagement, promoting deeper language acquisition and motivation. This presentation highlights the potential of AI to bridge gaps in traditional language education, encouraging innovative approaches that move beyond test-centric methods. It advocates for professional development programs that equip educators with the skills to harness AI effectively, ensuring ethical, inclusive, and creative integration into teaching practices.
