Affective education is increasingly recognized as a global priority. Values and attitudes serve as learning compasses for the future, guiding education toward 2030 (OECD, 2019, Future of Education and Skills 2030: Conceptual Learning Framework). Social-emotional learning, digital pedagogies, and youth empowerment are central to re-imagining education and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals—particularly Target 7: building peaceful and sustainable societies (https://mgiep.unesco.org).
This year’s conference highlights the role of game and play design in advancing the public good and fostering happiness (UNESCO, 2024, Why the World Needs Happy Schools: Global Report on Happiness in and for Learning)—from promoting mental health and empathy to tackling cross-disciplinary challenges in education and beyond. The conference also aligns with the mission of EARLI-SIG 28, which emphasizes the significance of play and playfulness in learning and development (https://www.earli.org/sig/sig-28-play-learning-and-development).
Conference Focus
Participants are invited to explore how games, play, and playful pedagogies can be designed and implemented to:
Support early screening and diagnosis of mental and physical disabilities (e.g., autism, color blindness, ADHD).
Promote empathy, mental skills (e.g., executive function, learning strategies), and mental health (e.g., emotional intelligence)
Reduce bullying in schools or workplaces and foster positive environments
Encourage moral or character development and positive values
Teach academic subjects (e.g., mathematics, English, science) in engaging ways
Develop innovative ideas that serve the public good
Call for Diversity
We welcome diverse perspectives on affective education, including but not limited to:
Pedagogical approaches (with or without ICT, including AI and GenAI)
Applications across school subjects and beyond
Practices in formal classrooms, informal learning, parental engagement, and teacher education
Studies of national curricula, educational policies, and cultural contexts
Artificial Intelligence (AI), including Generative AI (GenAI), impacts
To support inclusivity, the conference will be free of charge for both presenters and participants.

Submission Options:
Single Paper: Submit individually; the conference may group 3–4 presenters together.
Symposium: Submit as a group (3–4 presenters) with one chair. We also welcome instructors to collaborate with their students for this format. (歡迎師生組團一起參與！例如：在教學中含有「專題」設計。)
Poster: Submissions for poster presentations are welcome. Posters should be in a portrait layout and printed on thin, lightweight paper or cloth. Standard poster size is accepted (A1, 594mm x 841mm). The dimensions of the poster display boards is 58cm wide and 86cm tall. Ensure your poster fit within these dimensions.

✨ Initial Manuscript: 4–8 pages, with references limited to 1-2 page (maximum).
Conference Presentation Guidelines:
For both onsite and virtual presentations, presenters should arrive 15 minutes prior to their scheduled session to allow adequate time for preparation.
Presenters are also expected to remain for the full duration of the session to participate in discussion and interaction.
Note. Every effort will be made to adhere to the published schedule; however, presentation times may vary, especially within a session, due to unforeseen circumstances.
