Do you take late entries?
Late entries will be taken online beginning Thursday, July 31st, at 10 am until 6 pm. The late entry fee is $20 per rider and horse combo.
If you are already entered and decide to add classes (e.g., the average or the Redemption Round) or side pots, these can be added in the Show Office and will not incur a late fee.
Do I have to be a member of any association?
Yes, your NBHA membership must be up to date to compete. Contact nbha@nbha.com if you need to verify or have trouble updating your membership. You must be a current member, in good standing, of the Iowa NBHA.
How do I qualify to compete at the show?
You must have entered three (3) Iowa NBHA shows within your designated district between July 16, 2024, and July 15, 2025. The State Show Log is the official record of all Iowa NBHA members' shows. Please verify the accuracy of this for yourself.
There are no minimum point requirements to qualify.
No NBHA member may compete in more than one NBHA State Finals during a calendar year.
What if my horse gets hurt or sick? What if I get hurt or sick?
No refunds will be issued for any reason. You can sell your spots (see next question).
Can I sell my spot or make a horse/rider substitution?
YES, spots may be bought/sold and rider/horse substitutions can be made, as long as the competitor purchasing the spots is qualified to compete by attending three Iowa NBHA shows within their designated district. All changes must be reported at the Show Office. Changes will not be accepted via email, text, phone call, or Facebook message.
The new contestant is responsible for paying the processing fee to the Show Office and any contestant must have met the necessary Iowa NBHA State Finals qualifications.
Substitution of horses is allowed. The substitution must be declared in the Show Office and a Substitution Form completed prior to the contestant’s first run. The contestant must ride the horse they have declared. Failure to comply will result in disqualification in the go-round.

What is the payback format?
100% of added money will be paid as advertised. A minimum of 70% of entry fees will be jackpotted for each class. Standard minimum NBHA payout rules apply to all classes.

Can I be stalled with my friends?
Yes, you can get up to five stalls with one entry. We will not be taking stall requests except for special circumstances so please plan accordingly.
