Rides In will happen from 8:15am-9:00am every morning.
Counselors should be in their huddle rooms during Rides In. You are responsible for:
Checking off each camper as they arrive and noting other necessary information on the roll sheet.
Having campers put all their personal items in the designated storage area (they should keep their water bottle at all times).
Playing with campers and creating relationships during this downtime.
Addressing any concerns with INDIVIDUAL campers from the day before (group concerns will be addressed during Morning Meetings).
LEAD participants, Volunteers, and Leadership will serve as runners, taking campers to their huddle rooms as they arrive.
If there are lots of campers arriving at the same time, allow a small group of them to wait at the numbered sign to avoid taking multiple trips to the huddle rooms.
Sports Camp Adjustments:
Combo Campers will go to their huddle rooms during rides in. A Leadership staff will take all of them to Sports Camp at 8:45am. They will leave everything except the materials they need for Sports Camp.
Sports Camp only campers will go to the Gym or Field upon arrival.
Morning Meeting is the perfect opportunity to set the tone of your day. You will follow slides to go through various aspects of the day.
Every morning meeting will begin with a quick icebreaker.
This is the time to share any reminders about the day(s) ahead (i.e., Tomorrow is Thursday which means we're playing water games. Make sure to bring a change of clothes and a towel).
This is also the time to go over any huddle expectations or behavior issues that need to be addressed from the day before. These should be group-wide expectations - individual behavior concerns should be addressed one on one with that camper.
During Morning Meeting you will introduce the bead of the day and remind campers how they can earn beads based on positive behaviors.
Lastly, this is the time to go through the schedule with your campers. Remind them of any changes and make sure to create excitement for whatever activities are in store.
General
If you are expected to participate (i.e., Counselor Challenges, Distributing Beads) please be prepared accordingly and ensure that your co-counselors and program staff are equipped to monitor the group in your absence.
It's okay to be loud and excited when appropriate but your huddle should not be distracting to others. Monitor their volume and participation levels throughout the event.
If a camper is dropped off or called to go home during an assembly, utilize the help of a Leadership staff or your huddle staff to walk the camper to the appropriate location.
Morning Assembly
Counselor challenges will be completed during morning assembly.
Ensure that your other counselors are available to watch your huddle should you be called up to complete a challenge.
Afternoon Assembly
During the afternoon assembly, campers will play the theme game. Each huddle will send two campers up to play the game as instructed.
Campers do have the option to bring up a counselor to help them. This will most likely be utilized by the younger huddles who may not understand all the rules but the option is available to everyone.
Campers caught cheating will be dismissed from the game immediately and the huddle will forfeit any points gained during that round.
The game is meant to be fun - competition is wonderful but at the end of the day, campers shouldn't base their perception of the entire week on a game.
There will also be a bead awarded during every afternoon assembly. The camper called as the winner should come to the stage, accept their bead, and go back to their seat.
Lunch is at the same time every day for every huddle. The location may change depending on weather or the facilities being used by other faculty.
Lunch will typically be in the Atrium at 12:20pm.
Combination campers will be joining your huddle for lunch and the rest of the day.
You need to check each Combination Camper off your roster as they come in and adjust your headcount number accordingly.
After lunch, a Program Staff will be assigned to take all lunch bags and Combo Camper bags to the Huddle Room.
Your huddle's lunch area should be clean before leaving the table.
Our theme this summer is "Who Are You?" Campers will be learning what it means to find their true identity in Christ and to see themselves the way God sees them. They will also be challenged to live the way He designed them too.
Each week of camp will focus on three key "We Are" statements.
Week 1 will focus on Creation - We are created by God, loved by God, and made to be like God.
Week 2 will focus on The Fall - We are understood by God, forgiven by God, and strengthened by God.
Week 3 will focus on the life of Jesus - We are saved by God, children of God, and redeemed by God.
Week 4 will focus on life as a Jesus Follower - We are made new by God, purposed by God, and led by God.
Devotion will happen once a day and will include a teaching, memory verse, activity, worship, and prayer.
You are expected to set the tone of engagement - phones are not to be used during devotion.
You should be listening to the message as you will be responsible for talking about it's impacts with your campers throughout the week and potentially answering their questions.
You should be participating in any activities during devotion, including worship.
Every huddle goes fishing once during the week.
One counselor should run the actual fishing with the assistance of a LEAD and a Leadership staff.
Give a fishing pole to four campers.
Set a five minute timer for those four campers to fish.
Teach them how to cast and reel. Ensure they are not casting toward the trees, aiming to catch turtles, or standing too close to the water.
Remaining staff should spend time with the campers who are not actively fishing.
You may take some of the bubbles from the Sensory station (CT Classroom 1, 1116) for the campers to play with.
You can do any kind of small game with the campers during their waiting time. Make sure they are not too close to the fishers as we don't want them to get hooked.
During every morning assembly, 1 counselor from each huddle will be sent up to complete a counselor challenge.
The winner of the counselor challenge is eliminated from the final gauntlet (this is a good thing).
On Friday, after the last counselor challenge, one huddle will be left as the gauntlet participant.
Counselors in the Gauntlet huddle will play RPS to determine which one has to undergo the Gauntlet.
Rides In will happen from 4:40pm-5:30pm every afternoon.
Counselors should be in their huddle rooms during Rides Out. You are responsible for:
Watching the Rides Out sheet to ensure you're calling the right campers when their parents arrive.
Checking off each camper as they leave and noting other necessary information on the roll sheet.
Having campers take all of their personal belongings with them.
Talking with campers and creating relationships during this downtime.
Addressing concerns with parents as needed. If you have to leave the room to speak with a parent at Rides Out, you need to make sure you have adequate counselor coverage for the time you are gone.
Program Staff will serve as runners, taking campers from their huddle rooms as they leave.
If a counselor is walking a camper out to speak with their parent, you may be asked to take their spot in the huddle room until they get back.
All games should be played as instructed.
You need to be ensuring that your huddle is following directions and using equipment appropriately.
Before and after you assigned water game time, campers should change into their bathing suits.
All campers will go to their huddle room and get their bathing suit, any water shoes, and their towel.
Towels should be placed on their hook or in the cubby OUTSIDE their bag.
Bathing suits and water shoes should be taking into the bathroom with them.
The hall bathrooms will be used for changing.
Dismiss campers three at a time to change in the restrooms, with the rest waiting outside the door with a counselor.
As campers exit the bathroom, they should take their dry clothes and shoes and immediately put them in their bag. Then they will grab their towel and have a seat in the huddle room until everyone is finished.
Counselors with campers who have finished changing should do something to redeem the time (play a game that doesn’t require materials or moving).
Once all campers are completely changed, lead them out to the field for games.
Water Games Dress Code
Girls must wear a one-piece swimsuit if choosing to change into swim wear. Swimsuits should not be overly revealing or ill-fitting. If choosing to wear other clothing instead of a swimsuit, shirts may not be white or light-colored.
Boys must wear a shirt regardless of their shorts preference. They may wear swim trunks but a shirt must remain on at all times. Shirts may not be white or light-colored.
All campers must wear a water-style shoe. This can be a flip flop, outdoor sandal, or traditional swim shoes. All campers are required to have a second pair of clothing for water games.
Counselors: The same rules apply as above.
After water games:
Ensure everyone in your huddle has dried off as much as possible before taking them back to your huddle room to change.
Everyone must change into dry clothes.
Complete the changing process as before with three people at a time in the bathroom.
Every camper should put their wet items in a gallon bag and back into their bag immediately.
The main goals of camper changing is to be quick, efficient, and to lose as few items as possible. This will require additional supervision as well as strict adherence to the protocols to ensure campers get in and out of the bathroom quickly and that their items are stored appropriately.
Kona Ice will be at camp on Fridays from 10:30-12:30.
It is cash only - campers will be reminded during Rides Out on Thursday to bring cash with them. Staff may participate.
Each huddle will have an assigned time to buy and enjoy their treat.
This is our final and largest activity of the week.
Campers will be tasked to find out the culprit of a life-sized Clue-themed mystery! They'll combine clues from the week with clues from the game.
Multiple rooms will be used and huddles will have to share space with one another.
Make sure your campers are working as a team - not all of them have to be in the same room but they do have to share all of their information with one another.
You'll have a set amount of time to go in and out of the different rooms to solve the mystery.
Breakdown:
There are six total rooms in our Campground. Each room will have a special guest AND a mystery clue.
The mystery clue will be a letter hidden somewhere in the room.
Every huddle must go to every room. They can go in whatever order they choose.
You must introduce yourself to each mystery guest if you’d like to talk to them. They may tell you some quality information about where the trickster has hidden the stolen item…
You may also ask the mystery guest yes or no questions about the location of the stolen item. They can only answer yes/no questions and they will only answer the number of questions listed below:
Shepherds get 1 question; Flames, Rangers, Guardians and Ambassadors get 2 questions; Doves get three questions. This is to make it fair based on age and ability.
None of the mystery guests know the identity of the Trickster and they will not answer questions like “Is the location ______.”
Let your campers decide on what questions to ask. If they need help, you can assist with suggestions. Encourage them to ask about the location of the mystery letter, the direction the Trickster ran off in, etc.
You may then look around the room for the mystery letter clue.
If/when you find the letter clue, have someone photograph it or write it down so everyone remembers.
Encourage your campers to re-hide the letter in the same location to make it trickier for the next group.
Once you’ve been to all the campground locations, your huddle will have time to make their guess: who is the Trickster and where did they take the stolen item?
Our rooms include: the Library (CT Classroom 2), the Art Studio (CT Classroom 1), the Study (Staff Lounge, B4 Overflow), the Kitchen (Overflow Lunch, B5), the Auditorium (Theater Room), and the Gymnasium (Founder’s Hall).
Locations the Trickster may have taken the stolen item include: Library, Art Studio, Huddle Rooms, Auditorium, Gymnasium, Atrium, Playground, Kitchen, and Study.
The goal is NOT to find the stolen item, but to correctly guess where it has been hidden AND the identity of the Trickster. You cannot go into any rooms not listed in the Campground room list.
Your entire huddle has to be together at all times.
The identity of the Trickster and the location of their stolen item will be revealed after the game is complete.
Once they have gone through every room and gathered their clues, each huddle will have ten minutes in their huddle room to deliberate.
They will decide who the Trickster is and where they've hidden the stolen item.
If the campers cannot agree, answers must be decided by majority vote via hands raised.
Answers must be submitted to the Director by a counselor before the time is up in order to count.
Monday - All staff wear a staff shirt. This can be the kelly green Camp Trinity logo shirt, a previous staff shirt, or the 2025 staff shirt. No theme for campers.
Tuesday - Team Tuesday; everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite sports team.
Wednesday - Unity Day; everyone is encouraged to wear their huddle's color.
Doves are pink, Rangers are green, Flames are red, Guardians are orange, Ambassadors are blue, Shepherds are yellow.
This is also picture day.
Thursday - Tropical Thursday; everyone is encouraged to wear their best tropical gear (hawaiian shirts, leis, etc.).
Friday - Funday Friday; everyone is encouraged to dress in their most colorful, wacky attire.
All staff wear their 2025 Summer staff shirts.
The Theme Game gives campers a chance to come up on stage and earn points for their huddle. All of these points will go towards the Huddle of the Week.
The Theme Game this year is a take on the classic "Guess Who" game.
How to Play:
The emcee will announce the game and spin the wheel to decide which huddle comes up first.
The emcee displays the 25 options on the screen (e.g., staff members, Disney characters, superheroes, etc.), and secretly chooses one character from the options.
The first huddle sends two kids up to the stage to begin asking questions. A counselor can go up with them (especially for the younger groups), but should only be utilized if they are stuck and can help the campers come up with the next question for time sake.
The two players alternate asking yes/no questions to figure out who the character is. They will have three rounds of questions:
Round 1: Each huddle asks three questions, and after that, they get one guess as to who the character is.
Round 2: They ask two questions, then get one guess.
Round 3: They ask one last question, followed by one final guess.
For example:
Player 1 asks, “Is the character from a movie?”
Player 2 asks, “Is the character an animal?”
Player 1 asks, “Does the character wear a cape?”
After three questions, they get one guess.
Player 1 guesses: “Is it Superman?”
If the guess is wrong, they continue to the next round with two more questions.
Point System:
If the campers guess correctly on their first guess (after the 3 questions), they earn 100 points for their huddle.
If they guess correctly on the second guess (after 2 more questions), they earn 50 points.
If they guess correctly on the third guess (after 1 more question), they earn 30 points.
If they don’t guess correctly, they get 0 points for the round, and the correct answer will be revealed.
Switching Turns:
After each round, the next huddle will come up, and the emcee will choose a new mystery character from the 25 options. The same process will continue for each round.
There are three awards given out during the camp week.
Camper of the Day
This will be a bead given out during Afternoon Assembly.
There will be an explanation of the bead's meaning and the announcement of the winner.
The bead will be based on camper character.
Theme Champion
This will be a bead given out during Afternoon Assembly only Tuesday-Friday.
This bead will go to the camper who best captured the theme of the day (Team, Huddle Colors, Tropical, Wacky/Colorful).
Huddle of the Week
This is based solely on points earned during the week.
Points can be earned by correct guesses during Theme Game as well as a correct solve in the Big Game.
Huddle of the Week will be announced during the last Assembly on Friday.
If your huddle is announced as the Huddle of the Week, you may all run up to the stage and grab your prize out of the black Mystery Box. Every member of the Huddle of the Week also gets to sign one side of the Mystery Box.
If your huddle does not win, you should be cheering on those that are celebrating. Sportsmanship is a must.
