Lil' Bookworms

Wednesdays, June 5thth - June 26th at 6:30 p.m.

For grades K-2


The fun continues! If you participated in this book club that started in the spring, we hope you'll want to continue. And if you didn't participate in the spring, we welcome you to join now! A new book from a different series will be chosen and we will read our way through together, discussing and completing activities along the way. 


Register once for the entire summer, beginning May 15th. 


STEM Exploration Camp

Saturday, June 8th from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

For grades 3-6


Come learn about Newton's laws of motion and the four forces of flight. Complete mini experiments and then build your own paper airplane considering how to design it for distance and speed. This class is being presented by S.Y.STEM Coalition.

Please pack a lunch as there will be a break at noon. $10 fee per child applies, payable at the door.

Monday Crafternoons

Mondays, June 10th - July 15th from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.

For all ages


Stop by Monday afternoons to make an adventure-themed craft. From flying discs to safari binoculars, create fun items to use this summer!

Lunch Bunch Book Club

Tuesdays, June 11th - August 6th  at 12 p.m.

For grades 3-6


What if you could write your dreams into reality with the stroke of a pen? Imagine the adventures you could have! This is what happens to Josephine Rose Silver in J.R. Writes Her World. Join us as we read and discuss the story together, AND visit (virtually) with the author, Melissa Dessori, during our final class!

*Please bring a bagged lunch to each book club session.

Squeegee Art

Have fun learning a new painting technique! Wear old clothes or a paint shirt; We will be using acrylic paints for this project.

Bad Art Contest

Wednesday, June 12th at 2 p.m.

For grades 5 & 6


In this freestyle event, you will have access to crazy art and craft materials. The goal is to create a silly, hideous, and highly creative original masterpiece. The "worst" piece of art will win a tacky trophy.

From Page to Stage

Thursday, June 13th at 1 p.m. for 1st - 3rd grade & 

at 3 p.m. for 4th - 6th grade.


Do you have a flair for the dramatics? Do you love to act or dress up in costumes? Join us and turn your favorite fairytale into a stage play! Together we'll break down a story into its basic elements and learn how to adapt that into a short play. We'll ready a story, learn all about the different  roles in the theatre (actors, costumers, directors, playwrights), play some theatre games, and put on a short play!

Giddy Up Storytime

Monday June 17th at 11 a.m.

For grades K-4


Gallop over for a special horse-themed story time where the Lady Thistle book series will be read by the author herself! Meet D.H. Anderson and learn all about her hose, Lady Thistle, and the other horses she cares for on her farm. We will discuss what it is to be an author, illustrator, veterinarian, and other topics raised by the books.

Build a Birdhouse

Wednesdays, June 19th OR July 17th at 1 p.m.

For children in grades 1 & 2 with a caregiver


Backyard bird watching can be an adventure all of its own! Can you identify the types of birds you see around here in Bethel Park? Listen to stories and learn fun bird facts before making a birdhouse of your very own! A special thank you goes out to Mr. and Mrs. Kolmer who are donating their time and the supplies for the special class.

How to Catch... Adventures

Based on the popular and hilarious How to Catch books series by author Adam Wallace, children will participate in a fun reading adventure while using their STEM stills to invent their own creature, design their own trap, and more!

Inky's Library Mystery Puppet Show

Saturday, June 22nd at 2 p.m.

For grades K-6


Join Inky the Cat and Albert the Dog on their thrilling adventure as they attempt to solve the Mystery of the Purrrsburg Library! Where's that strange sound coming from? Will they be able to solve all the clues and unlock the secret room?

This fun and exciting story is perfect for audiences who love solving puzzles and going on adventures with their animal friends. Register beginning June 1st.


National Sugar Cookie Day

Tuesday, July 9th at 2 p.m.

For grades K-6


Celebrate National Sugar Cookie Day! Come and learn to outline and flood with royal icing as we decorate some yummy sugar cookies together! Learn how to do a special summer beach theme design and create something totally new on your own!

Register beginning June 15th. Younger children are asked to be accompanied by an adult.



Adventures with Brittie The Traveling Spider

Friday, July 19th at 1 p.m.

For grades K-4


Brittie the Traveling Spider has had adventures in Italy and France so far, and she wants to go on many more! Meet the author and illustrator of the Brittie Spider books, as well as other titles. Learn the inspiration behind the stories, and discover like Brittie did, that with God all things are possible! What dreams will you be inspired to pursue? Q&A with the author and illustrator will follow the story time. Copies of their books will be on sale afterwards, too.
