I am honored to be selected as a NEA Foundation Global Learning Fellow, joining a cohort of 50 public school educators who are all committed to equity, global understanding, and student empowerment. As part of this fellowship, I’ll travel to South Africa in summer 2026 for an immersive international field study designed to build global competency and deepen cultural awareness. While the full itinerary is still being developed, the experience promises powerful opportunities to connect, learn, and grow as an educator.
Throughout this journey, I’ll explore South Africa’s rich history, vibrant communities, and innovative educational practices alongside teachers and thought leaders from across the U.S. and around the world. I’ll engage in professional learning that challenges me to think globally and act locally—bringing back insights, resources, and connections to enrich my teaching and empower my students as global citizens.
This page will serve as a space to document my growth before, during, and after the expedition. I’ll be sharing updates, reflections, and classroom-ready resources so students, colleagues, and community members can be part of the adventure. I invite you to follow along as I prepare to explore, reflect, and bring the world home to my classroom.
