End of Month 2-PersonTeam Scramble Rules
For the end of the month 2-person scrambles, handicaps will be used. The usual scramble rules apply (one club length, no closer to the hole and not in a different terrain, etc.) You do NOT have to use a drive from both players - one player can get hot and just carry the day if that's the way the chips fall.
Handicaps will be averaged and rounded DOWN (Note this is a change from my first communications.) We should round DOWN due to the scramble format - we will have better scores to begin with. So a 6 and a 7 playing together will be a 6. A 4 playing with a 9 will average to a 6. If a male-female team is playing defer to the men's par for each hole. (At Needwood it will even out on the front nine, and on the back nine I think the ladies tees are still in front of the men by a good amount.)
What happens when one person doesn't show up? In regular play we just do a 1 vs. 2. But with scramble play we have a choice. Whoever is the single (without a partner) can decide whether he/she wants to play a regular 1 vs. 2 or...they can still do a scramble and take two shots themselves (using the best one for each shot).
Please report your match results to your flight scorekeeper (Hanson for A flight and Roger for B.) You will not have individual scores to report - just the match results.
This format is only for the last week of each month, and a reminder will be sent the week before.

Spring Mixed Flight Scramble Rules
(Opening Spring scrambles only)
In the mixed scrambles no handicap is used. Everyone moves their ball to the best shot and hits from there. There will be one score for each foursome for the 9 hole round. There are no specific rules about using everyone's tee shot.
