Hello everyone! Welcome to my A Level Coursework, my name is Michelle Nathanie Sutanto - more commonly referred to as Michy or Michu.  I am currently in 12th grade and I go to Singapore National Academy, located in Surabaya, Indonesia.

I chose to continue studying media for this academic year as I wish to further expand my set of skills when it comes to the production of media. Additionally, I found the experience of making the previous year’s coursework extremely interesting and enjoyable so I wish to continue pursuing the subject.

Learning media studies has opened a window of opportunities for me to hone and sharpen my previous skills such as editing, directing, and filming, all three of which I took part in in my AS Coursework. It has also greatly improved my leadership skills and my ability to work as a team amongst my peers, as well as allowing me to learn how to manage my time and balance between the subject’s coursework requirements and my other A level subjects.

Media has become a relevant part of my future as I aspire to take a media studies major moving forward to university, or something along those lines. It is also relevant as the media studies subject includes topics of my interest such as media regulations, ecology, and other previous topics I learnt in last year’s curriculum such as media marketing techniques and distribution. Overall, I hope to make use of the knowledge I’ve gained and will gain this school year in my future.

After completing my A level media studies, I hope that I will develop a deeper understanding of the media topics I am to learn so that I will be able to apply the knowledge I’ve made understanding of for future endeavors. I also hope that by completing this syllabus, I will be able to truly sharpen my skills and have a wider perspective on the topics I would have learnt by the time the school year ends.
