The Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court
Background:
• Held yearly since 1992 by the International Institute of Space Law (IISL)
• Involves about 80-100 law schools from around the world every year
• Prior space law course NOT a prerequisite. Many schools that have no space law course have won Regional Rounds and World Finals
• Largest round in the five Regional Rounds: Africa, Asia Pacific, North America, Latin America, Europe
World Finals:
• Traditionally judged by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) judges.
• Held in October along with the International Astronautical Congress, which provides opportunities to meet space lawyers and space industry representatives from around the world.
• The 2024 World Finals will take place in Milan, Italy.

Registration
Registration Deadline: 31 December 2023 [!CLOSED!]
The registration will require following steps. Please check in beforehand:
1) Register online [CLOSED]
2) Sign the IISL License and attach it to your registration in the respective field.
3) Submit the registration fee of 40,000 JPY to the PayPal account of the Regional Organizing Committee. (Assosiated cost will be added in the invoice.)
Payment instructions will be provided to your Point of Contact upon your registration. The payment due will be 10 January 2024.
(Bank transfer will also be available however with higher commission fee depending on the banks. If you request bank transfer, please inform us after your registration.)
Each team must have one faculty advisor. In addition, a team may have one assistant advisor.
Registration fee:
The 40,000 JPY (FOURTY THOUSAND JAPANESE YEN) registration fee per team. (Assosiated cost excluded.)
Participating Teams shall comply with the Specific Regional Rules of the Asia-Pacific Regional Round, (adopted pursuant to article 2(2) of the Official Rules of the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition), for participation of the Asia Pacific Regional Rounds 2024 in all respects.
If a Sponsor wish to organize a National Funding Round in accordance with the Article 6 of the Specific Regional Rules of the Asia-Pacific Regional Round, the Sponsor needs to coordinate with the Regional Organizer IN ADVANCE as such.
