If your dancer is selected for a solo or duo, the choreographer will provide 2-3 song options for the dancer to choose from. The final song selection will be determined by the choreographer.

If your dancer is in a solo and a duo and competing in both, your dancer pays $100 only once per competition to compete.
There have been instances due to weather and early morning competition scheduling where the on-site coach is not available to meet the dancer before they compete.
Also please be aware that some competitions have entry limits (ie: Some only allow 10 solo/duos/trios) and some competitions also require participation in a group routine in order to compete a solo. Your directors will make sure to provide you with that information. With that in mind, competitions book quickly so it would be in your best interest to commit as timely as possible.
If your dancer decides to compete at a competition we are not attending as a team, there will not be a staff member on-site, however, additional fees for registration and music uploading will apply. Studio fees for optional / extra events TBD.

Rehearsals
An email will go out to you confirming your choreographer options and when the studio is available for booking. The emails typically go out in the summer after placement and audition results are announced. Once confirming your choreographer, parents/dancers will be responsible for booking the choreography time and studio for rehearsals. Booking choreography in the summer may be required or highly recommended. Please be aware that as an EDS Competition Team Member you are required to book all rehearsals at Elevation Dance Studio and availability is determined by the Artistic Director, Team Director, and Choreographer.
Parents will be given rehearsal options based on the studio and choreographer/coach availability.
Weekly Fall Rehearsal times will be on a first come first served basis so please plan to book as timely as possible so your time is not given to another dancer.
Competition Solos & Duos will have priority booking over all other private lessons and studio rentals.
If you are competing, you are required to rehearse at least twice per month at Elevation with a faculty member after all choreography is learned. 30-60 minute increments can be split between 2 dancers upon approval from the teacher running your rehearsal and based on studio availability. December is the only month with an exception since studio space and instructor availability will be very limited.
Once booking your weekly rehearsal time, that time must be paid monthly in advance. For example, for rehearsals booked in September, payment for the entire month of rehearsals must be paid in August. If you do not plan on rehearsing certain dates, that must be communicated to the director so you are not charged for that lesson.
If your dancer no-show or cancels within 24 hours of the rehearsal, the parent/dancer is still responsible for the full lesson payment. The only exception is if the dancer is sick and experiencing symptoms.
Elevation reserves the right to provide a substitute in the event the coach is not able to run the rehearsal.
Discretionary Items
The director, instructor, and dancer(s) will determine the date of the first competition based on readiness. Elevation will approve competitions that performers participate in. You will always enter your routine representing Elevation Dance Studio. The directors will make all decisions related to performing routines in any recitals, performances, or shows.
It is at the discretion of the Directors as to which competition you will be entered.
The choreographer and/or coach running your rehearsals may or may not be available for every rehearsal or competition and an Elevation representative may be available to run your routine/ warm-up at the competition depending on the schedule.
There will always be an Elevation representative at competitions where there are group routines competing. If you elect to compete your solo/duo/trio in events outside of the ones we are already scheduled for, you will not have an Elevation representative available.
It is highly encouraged for dancers to watch and support their WHOLE team including solos/duos/trios whenever possible
