SUMMER CLASS REQUIREMENTS:
With an ever-growing community of members taking classes outside of Elevation over the summer, we are allowing everyone to submit their summer plan for approval with their application
In the instance a potential member plans to take summer classes at Elevation, it is the member’s responsibility to sign up for those classes no later than APRIL 15TH so we avoid class cancelations due to low enrollment. Elevation appreciates your support of classes held at the studio over the summer whenever possible. We love the opportunity to work with the students over the summer to spend time on the skills they need the most, and because we are in classes with them all season, we gear the classes towards those needs.
For approval, and for planning purposes, please use this as a general Summer dance guide:
For levels 3 & 4 dancers ages 8-10: 16 hours of dance over the summer.
For level 5 and up, dancers ages 11 and up: 16 hours of dance over the summer.
For level 7 & 8 dancers: 20 hours of dance over the summer.
FOR ALL OF THE ABOVE SUMMER REQUIREMENTS, YOU MAY APPLY FOR APPROVAL OF A PROGRAM OUTSIDE OF ELEVATION.

Members are required to take all classes during the convention in order to satisfy the requirement, as well as, participating in the audition portion of the convention.
As soon as dates for the 2024/2025 season are announced, you will be provided with 2 convention options and exact pricing.
What is convention and why do we attend?
In years past, some of the competitions EDS attends also have a convention tied to the event. In order for dancers to compete at these events, they must also be registered for the convention. The convention is 2+ days of dance classes (typically 6-7 hours/day) taught by some of the most sought after choreographers and teachers in the industry. The classes can vary from jazz to ballet to hip hop or contemporary. This is an opportunity for dancers to experience dancing with peers from all over the country and to experience dance on a whole other level. We believe that participating in convention is particularly important for dancers who may have limited exposure to dance outside of Steamboat.
COMPETITION TEAM
New this year! EDS is merging the Company program with the Competition Team in an effort to grow the team and provide MORE performance opportunities for our dancers outside of Steamboat, which is also the mission of being part of the team! Competition is simply an opportunity for growth. Dancers display their artistry, skills and technique and receive critique by working industry professionals to fine tune their skills and ultimately improve. Dancers who compete become more confident on stage, and at EDS that's what WINNING looks like!
Dancers may be part of Company without doing Competition Team this year with the exception of dancers who make Senior Company. There is a place on the application for dancers to select the program they believe will fit their needs best as well as competition participation.
Competition Team will practice together 90 minutes per week in the studio.
