We are using four platforms:
Zoom for synchronous, interactive conference sessions. Zoom links for sessions will be posted on Sched (see below).
YouTube for livestreaming video of conference sessions and asynchronous playback of conference sessions
Sched for registration, schedule, and links to Zoom and session materials. The Zoom links for sessions and session materials are only visible if you have registered for the conference and are logged into Sched.
Slack for asynchronous activities, including out-of-session discussion, logistics, and support. We ask that you ask questions and engage in discussion using Slack, although many sessions will also have a Zoom chat option. You can join the LD4 Slack workspace where you'll find the channels for this year's conference: #2024-conf, #2024-conf-help, and #2024-conf-social. You can ask any technology related questions on the #2024-conf-help channel, or contact our conference help email address: ld4-conf-help@googlegroups.com.
We recommend that attendees:
Download and install the most recent versions of Zoom and Slack
Review tutorials on using the technology platforms
Zoom: Zoom tutorial videos: the playlists "Zoom Meetings" and "Zoom Phone" are good introductory tutorials. We also have drafted some Zoom tips.
Slack: Slack video tutorials
If you are a presenter or facilitator, please also check out accessibility tips for presenters and facilitators.
