This sabbatical project holds immense excitement for me, as it aligns with my dedication to fostering a dynamic and captivating learning atmosphere in the classroom. The vision involves crafting a series of table-top escape room games—interactive challenges designed to immerse students in science concepts through problem-solving and collaboration. Drawing inspiration from game theory and game-based learning, I aim to leverage the appeal of games and narrative to captivate students' interest and foster a deeper understanding of physics.
In addition to the academic benefits, incorporating table-top escape room games into the physics curriculum aligns with the well-established concept that children learn best through play. Play-based learning not only stimulates cognitive development but also nurtures creativity, problem-solving skills, and collaboration. By integrating game theory principles into the educational experience, students will engage in a playful yet structured environment that encourages exploration and experimentation. The immersive and interactive nature of the escape room games will provide a unique avenue for students to apply theoretical physics concepts in a practical context, fostering a deep and lasting understanding of the subject matter. This approach recognizes the inherent curiosity of students and leverages it as a driving force for active learning, ensuring that the educational experience is both enjoyable and academically enriching.
