2021 Staten Island Borough Arts Festival is dedicated to:
Betsy Dubovsky
Betsy Dubovsky, the first Executive Director of The Staten Island Foundation, was a champion of the Arts and children in and out of our Staten Island public schools for more than 23 years. Betsy's advocacy, leadership, and generous support of the Arts made possible multitudinous arts education grants to organizations and schools all over Staten Island that impacted 1,000s of children's lives. One of her fondest experiences was being Principal for A Day at P.S. 30 where she and the principal did an art project together. In the six years, Betsy never missed a Staten Island Borough Arts Festival. She was a genuinely kind person who recognized that dance, music, theater, and the visual arts are an entry point for every person, allowing them to connect to the world, themselves, and each other. She will be greatly missed.
