AKO - Learning together

What might I do back in the classroom?

In order to consolidate my learning I created these resources. The learning for me is in the process, and the product helps trigger my memory. After many years of incorrect pronunciation, I struggle to correctly pronounce Te Reo consistently. I hope to improve over time with a lot of effort. Feel free to create your own video using the Python or scratch programs . As a teacher, I am enjoying being a student as the experience is teaching me how learners may experience my efforts to teach them. I am gaining an understanding of the time it takes to embed new information.

Grammer

Free PDF Book: Making Māori Sentences.

Lyndsay Head: Making Māori Sentences is a great reference for levels 1 to 4. Ray Harlow's Book, A Māori Reference Grammar covers level 1 through to 8.

  • Grammar: Levels 1 & 2

  • Grammer: Levels 3 & 4

  • Grammer: Levels 5 & 6

  • Grammer Levels 7 & 8

  • Exploring the Grammar of Te Reo Māori has helped me learn what the sentences actually mean. Also, seeing the patterns helps me retain the new knowledge.

Mā te kimi ka kite, Mā te kite ka mōhio, Mā te mōhio ka mārama.
