WAIVER AND RELEASE – Sandhill Crane Bicycle Tour 2026
I fully realize that bicycling is an inherently dangerous activity, but voluntarily and freely agree to assume any and all risks associated with said activity.
In consideration of my participation in the event, I hereby agree to forever release, waive, discharge, indemnify, and hold harmless The GI Stuhr Museum, Crane Trust Visitor Center, the Grand Island Visitors Bureau and all its members and partners, directors, employees, agents, members, officers, and assigns, all sponsors and promoters of the event, and their associated directors, officers, employees, and agents, and any other individual working in any capacity and sponsor and promoters, and their associated directors, officers, employees, and agents, from any act that may cause me to suffer personal injury, property loss, or any other form of loss to myself or property, including death, paralysis, dismemberment and disease that may result from my travel to and from the event, participation in the event, observation of the event, and/or any and all other activities associated with the event.
I acknowledge and accept that my participation in this event certifies that I am physically fit to participate in the event, trained sufficiently for this event, and/or have not been instructed by a physician to refrain from physical activities, and that none of the aforementioned parties have any reason to believe or suspect that I am not physically fit enough to participate in the event. If at any point I feel unable to continue participating in the event, or observe hazards that would make continued participation in the event a danger to myself or others, I acknowledge that it is my sole responsibility to withdraw myself from the event and notify the appropriate parties.
I accept and acknowledge that some of the inherent risks involved with bicycling and this event include motorists, animals, weather, collision with pedestrians, other cyclists, fixed or moving objects; surface hazards, pot holes, broken roads, large bridge gaps, equipment failure, and inadequate safety equipment. I recognize that there are other risks and dangers that are unforeseeable and beyond the control of the aforementioned parties and release those from any and all liability arising from said situations.
I accept and acknowledge that I am completely responsible for my own wellbeing and have made appropriate arrangements should I find myself unable to complete the event or in need of assistance and cannot depend on, demand or expect any of the aforementioned parties to be available or able to provide me with assistance.
I accept and acknowledge that it is my sole responsibility to comply with the rules of this event and any applicable laws, but accept and acknowledge that my compliance with the rules and laws in no way guarantees my safety or protects against property loss.
This waiver and release supersedes any prior or other agreement or representation, oral and written, which conflicts with any terms of this waiver and release. If there is any dispute regarding this waiver and assumption of risk it will be governed solely by the laws of the State of Nebraska.
By participaring, I accept this waiver and release freely, intelligently, voluntarily, and without any undue influence or duress. I fully intend this waiver to release all aforementioned parties from any and all liability, whether or not expressly set forth in this waiver.
Before participating i accept this waiver and release. I have read it in its entirety and fully understand the terms herein. If I had any questions regarding this waiver and release I made full inquiry and any such confusion or misunderstandings were made completely clear
I HAVE READ AND FULLY UNDERSTAND THE TERMS AND EFFECTS OF THIS AGREEMENT I UNDERSTAND THAT BY SIGNING THIS WAIVER I AM GIVING UP ANY LEGAL RIGHTS I MAY HAVE AGAINST THE PARTIES MENTIONED ABOVE FOR ANY INJURY OR LOSS I SUFFER.
