Code of Conduct

Workshop participants are expected to conduct themselves in a responsible and mature manner at all times. This includes being sensitive to all members of the group as well as to prevailing cultural norms and behaviors. In addition to the guiding principle identified above, the following is a non-exhaustive list of prohibited activities:

1. Physical abuse of any person or any action that threatens or endangers the emotional well-being, health, or safety of any person (including oneself).

2. Sexual harassment is prohibited. Sexual harassment is defined as: unwelcome sexual advances, or requests for sexual favors, or any other behavior of a sexual nature.

3. Theft of or vandalism to property.

4. Disorderly, disruptive, threatening or intimidating conduct, gestures or actions.

5. Violations of residential guidelines and/or rules established by hosts, including, but not limited to, unauthorized overnight guests, excessive noise, rowdy conduct, and drunkenness.

6. Criminal behavior or violation of local laws.

7. Permanent or temporary diversion of academic materials needed by other fellows.

8. Self-endangerment, including involvement in activities or behavior that could result in personal harm, including, but not limited to, frequenting of dangerous places, association with criminals, and repeated intoxication.
