The Southeast Seed Summit is a shared space to learn from each other, strengthen connections, and develop long-term strategies and collective actions to build regional seed systems in the Southeast.
The success of the summit will come in part from what we bring to it. Each of us has things to contribute.
1. Bring your seeds and stories to share at the Seed Showcase.
We will have tables set up for you to showcase your seeds and any information about your farm that you want to share. This will be a chance for you to collect seeds and stories from seed growers throughout the southeast. The Seed Showcase is Saturday November 2nd 3:15 – 4:30 p.m. in the Bull Durham Room.
2. Share your thoughts on the strengths and challenges in the southeast seed system, and your vision for its future.
We are hoping that everyone participating in the Southeast Seed Summit can take a few minutes to fill out this four question survey to asses the strengths, challenges and dreams of the southeast seed system.
This survey will be integral part of our collective planning session happening on Friday afternoon.
3. Sign up to share during the open space sections of the seed workshop sessions.
The strength of the Southeast Seed Summit depends on participants sharing their knowledge, experiences, triumphs and struggles with one another. Many of the workshop sessions have a significant block of time devoted to open peer-to-peer information sharing. If you have something that you would like to share related to any of the below workshops, please let us know by signing up using this survey link.
This can be things like: a favorite tool you've found to clean a tricky-to-clean seed, a technique you've come up to grow a challenging seed crop, or a time that you found an unusual variety that you now steward the seed of.
We are so glad that you'll be part of the Southeast Seed Summit. If you have any questions, please reach out to Jared Zystro at jared@seedalliance.org or 707-502-9984
