We understand, attending a conference can be a bit overwhelming. To help, we've assembled a list of our most common questions that you can get the answers you need.

General

What are the official dates of the convention?

The Annual Convention will take place Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. to Friday, October 5, 2018 ending at 12:30 p.m.

Are there volunteer opportunities available?

YES! There are many ways to volunteer for the Annual Convention. The Engage & Volunteer page of the Annual Convention website will be updated as volunteer opportunities become available in the fall.

How can I become an exhibitor?

We have many different exhibitor and sponsorship opportunities at the Annual Convention! Exhibitor information can be found on the Exhibit & Sponsor page of the Annual Convention website.

Where can I find information on the convention hotel?

All hotel information can be found on the Annual Convention website on the Plan Your Trip page.

Registration

Can I pay my membership dues and conference registration fee all at the same time?

No, you must pay your membership dues first. Once your membership has been paid for, you can log-in to the registration system and register for the convention at the member rate.

What is a Spouse (Guest) or Retiree registration? Who is it for?

Guest registrations can only be purchased in addition to a full registration. All guests (spouses) will be identified with an appropriate name badge. A guest is defined as a spouse or significant other, friend, or relative who is not a member of WEBIT or WMEA. If you would like to bring a guest, please provide their name and pay the registration fee during your online registration process. All guests must check-in at the registration desk onsite.

Retiree registrations can be purchased online only. All retirees will be identified with an appropriate name badge. A retiree is defined as an educator who has retired from the teaching profession AND is not currently teaching part or full-time in a school district or post-secondary institution.

Are there any meals included with the convention registration fee?

Meals ARE included with the annual convention.

  • Wenesday, October 3rd - Reception (7:00-9:00 p.m.) with cash bar and hot and cold hors d'oeuvres.
  • Thursday, October 4th - Buffet breakfast (7:45-9:00 a.m.), boxxed luncheon (12:15-1:15 p.m.), and a padleboat dinner cruise (5:30-7:30 p.m.) with pizza, pop, and beer with a cash bar.
  • Friday, October 5th - Awards breakfast (7:30-9:30 a.m.)

How can I present a session?

Please visit the Programs & Events page of the convention website to submit your proposal.

Do you have to be a WEBIT or WMEA member in order to present a session?

You do not have to be a WEBIT or WMEA member in order to submit a session proposal for the Annual Convention. However, if your session gets accepted, registration will be required.

Do I have to register for the conference if I'm presenting a session?

Yes, you must register for the conference if you are presenting a session. There are no discounts for presenters.

What is the deadline to submit a session proposal?

The deadline to submit a session proposal is Tuesday, July 31, 2018.
