2nd Grade:
Tu as des animaux?
Students have finished learning to name some of the pets that live with us. This includes a dog, a cat, a fish, a bird, and a mouse. Next, they are moving to learn more about the body parts and physical appearance.
3rd Grade:
After learning to tell when thirsty and name what they like to drink, students are moving forward to express their hunger and share what they like to eat.
4th Grade:
After finishing to talk about different nationalities and languages, students are learning about the subjects taught in school. Yes, they will share about their favorite subject as well.
5th Grade:
After learning about the different places in a French city, following directions to find a specific place, students will continue the journey to shop. They will be introduced to the people that work there and the items found in their stores. Happy shopping, 5th Grade!
2nd Grade:
Tu habites avec qui?
After telling about their brothers and sisters, students are now able to name all members all their family. If you ask, what about our pets? This lesson will start this week!
3rd Grade:
After learning about the utensils and food needed for a picnic, students are going to learn about fruits and be able to share which ones they like or don't like.
4th Grade:
Students continue to learn about countries, nationalities in regard of feminine and masculine nouns and the language spoken in these countries.
5th Grade:
Qu'est-ce qu'il y a dans ta ville?
Students will be able to name few places in the city. Their learning includes their best effort to compose correct sentences, using the masculine and feminine articles correctly. It is exciting to learn how the French people go around the city for their daily necessities.
After learning about all the objects that can be found in Leo's room, students are learning to share and talk about the siblings they have.
3rd grade:
After learning to tell where on their body students they feel pain, they are learning to name the 5 senses.
4th grade:
After learning to name most of the objects found in their classroom, students are moving forward to learn to express their feelings and emotions.
5th grade:
After learning the seasons and the weather related to it, students are exposed to writing an address, using key French words that are necessary to serve their purpose.
2nd grade:
Students learned and practiced common commands needed for French class. Moving forward, students are going to review the colors learned and progress in counting to reach 20 in numbers and letters. Next, they are going to follow the French family Legrand check where they live (in the city) and learn about the interior of the house.
3rd grade:
Students are sharing about their own feelings and emotions. Moreover, they can speak about other's sentiments as well, using the pronouns il/he and elle/she.
4th grade:
Students learned and practiced all commands of French class. Students are working hard to learn the daily routine of a French student while practicing telling the appropriate time for most actions of the morning routine.
5th grade:
After practicing French commands, students are learning about the relations that connect all members of the family together. This knowledge extends and included uncles, aunts and cousins.
During instruction time….
I believe that good listening, repetition and practice are key ingredients for success. Please remind your children to pay close attention, to think about the context of the lesson and to participate often in class. This will help them make more connections to the material presented, retain it and gain confidence in their ability to accomplish any give task.

Your child’s notebook is your guide to check the vocabulary taught in every grade. Please partner with me and remind your student to bring their French notebook home on Friday, which will enable them to practice vocabulary and numbers learned at their leisure.
Google/translate can be a big help if you have a doubt on a pronunciation.
