"Philosophizing about Education in the Philippines"

Nine out of ten of PhilSEP's board and founding members at the first in-person meeting held at Ateneo de Manila University last February 2024. The institutionalization of the association was made possible with the support of the Philosophy of Education Society of Australasia.

Welcome to the official website of the 1st Annual Conference of the Philippine Society of Education and Philosophy (PhilSEP)! PhilSEP was established in 2024 to promote the field of philosophy of education in the Philippines and to provide platforms for philosophers of education and educational theorists across the country. The theme for PhilSEP's first annual conference will be 'Philosophizing about education in the Philippines'. Although there are overlaps, the parallel sessions will be loosely organized into three tracks: (A) The Curriculum, (B) Educational Issues, and (C) Philosophical Explorations. The conference is organized in cooperation with the University of Santo Tomas Department of Philosophy.
