Abstracts must be unpublished, original or review, and must follow the rules and scripts. The review and editing of the abstracts are under the responsibility of the Scientific Coordination of the 27th Brazilian Congress of Paleontology (27th CBP), with the assistance of Thematic Sessions and Symposium Coordinators, as well as invited external reviewers.
If necessary, the submitted abstracts will be returned to the authors for correction. For submission, at least one author must be duly registered with the 27th CBP and each applicant may submit up to two abstracts.
FORMATTING THE ABSTRACT
TITLE: Times New Roman, size 12, capital letters. Scientific names in lower case. The title must not exceed 18 words. The title must exactly express the content of the abstract. Whenever pertinent, it should include the type of fossil identified or re-evaluated (its taxonomic insertion, at least the most inclusive clade), its age, and the location of the deposit (in that order).
AUTHORS: Names in full of all authors positioned two lines below the title. Times New Roman 10, upper case, with the number indicating the respective affiliation/Institution. The MEMBERSHIP OF THE AUTHOR(S) must be inserted at the end of the abstract, together with the funding source, if any. Include acronym of the federation unit (if in Brazil), country (except Brazil), institute, department and/or laboratory. Times New Roman 10, lower case. Each affiliation preceded by the author's indicative numbering.
TEXT: The text must be justified and single-spaced, written in Times New Roman 12. Up to 500 words and do not insert bibliographical references, figures or tables. The last lines must contain, when applicable, the acronyms of the bodies supporting the research production or granting grants, inserted in square brackets after the last period of the text, before the authors' affiliation. The abstract must be presented as a single paragraph. Authors must follow a clear and objective writing, starting with an overview of the topic discussed, study objectives, methods used and results obtained. Genres and species should invariably be written in italics.
The submission of abstracts for the 1st Gondwana Devonian Symposium is conditioned to the 27th Brazilian Congress of Paleontology.
