Revelation 21:5
Jesus Makes All Things New
5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
Matthew 22-34-30
The Greatest Commandment
34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
It seems that everyone gets bored in one's life at some time...It seems that, we as humans need something new or some change on a periodic basis...It seems that the opposite of boredom is curiosity...One that is constantly seeking things are less likely to be bored...A seeking and curious mind may never get bored...Our Father knows this...
I actually think if one would have even their favorite thing to do or have or to see all the time, they would get bored with it...For example, if one has their favorite food every meal and have it everyday, they would become tired and bored with it...If they have a favorite sport, and favorite team and watched it everyday, they would become bored with it...If your favorite weather is sunny and 82 degrees, and if everyday without fail it is 82 degrees, I expect you would become bored with it it...This type of boredom, is caused by repetition...There is not change, nothing is new...There are other causes of boredom, such as having only a small amount of differing interests, and our lack of interest and interests, even in the things we like...But it seems that we are less bored, when we are seek things that are new and what we like and love...It seems that we are less bored when we have a variety of things we like to do...Also, people have a way of keeping us less bored, while objects and our toys seem to bore us more quickly...It maybe we are bored more when we are thinking internally about ourselves, and less about others...It seems having people around us, or knowing they are around us can at times lessen our boredom...Even if we have a great and challenging job, if there is no one in the world to share it with, or your life with, you would quickly get bored with the great job...Especially, if that is all you did and do, day in and day out...
It seems that today, there is a lot of boredom...It seems evident in our attention spans...There are probably a lot of closets filled with different toys to help our young ones from boredom, but also we jump from work, to TV, to the internet, to our phones, to new technology to keep from being bored...Years ago, we did not have many of the comfortable technologies we have today, but it seems that we maybe more bored today than ever...
I suspect Jesus never bored anymore...God, His Father, is never boring...The Father are Son are much to complex, and much to divine to bore anyone...He can make anything new...He can make a thought, an old job, a person, yourself, a friend, anything new...In fact, He tells us He makes all things, or everything new...
I think the the two and Greatest Commandments are what keeps boredom out of our lives...When we love and seek God with all our hearts, we are not bored...When when seek our God and our neighbors we become less bored...We have an inherent need for God, and for companionship...God gave man a social aspect...God understands this, that is why He had His Son teaches us on the two Great Commandments...
